Officer & Director Duties

President
The President shall be chief executive officer, Chair of the Board of Directors and shall exercise general supervision over the interest and welfare of the Association. The President shall appoint all committees and discharge all replaced committees, subject to approval of the Board of Directors, and perform all other duties ordinarily incident to the office of President of an association. The President is an ex-officio member of all committees.


President Elect
The President Elect shall assume and discharge the duties of the office of President in the absence of disability of, or when called upon by the President. The President Elect will also perform such other duties as directed by the President. The President Elect shall serve as president after completion of a one year term in this office. The President Elect shall guide the monthly Association dinner meetings and related special events and shall promote member and prospective member attendance.


Executive Vice President
The Executive Vice President shall assume and discharge the duties of the President Elect in the absence or the disability of such officer and shall perform such other duties as directed by the President. The Executive Vice President elect shall be responsible for the monthly Association dinner meetings and related special events.


Vice President of Membership
The Vice President of Membership shall be responsible for the recruitment of new members, the retention of existing members, the maintenance of accurate records of membership and the promotion of active membership participation in the Association.


Vice President of Educational Resources
The Vice President of Educational Resources shall encourage and foster educational programs, seminars, professional certification, and other related studies and applications of professional improvement in both domestic and international arenas.


Vice President of Marketing
The Vice President of Marketing shall be responsible for the marketing, public promotion and advancement of both the Association and ISM, promotion of active membership in the Association, promotion of related events, and the related internal and external communications of such events and activities.


Vice President of Communications
The Vice President of Communications shall be responsible for the marketing, public promotion and advancement of both the Association and ISM, promotion of active membership in the Association, promotion of related events, and the related internal and external communications of such events and activities.

Vice President of Finance
The Vice President of Finance shall be responsible for the preparation and tracking of annual budgets, creation and dissemination of financial reports at the Board Meetings, preparation of necessary tax forms, and preparation of necessary financial information for yearly audits. In addition, this position would be responsible for any contracted financial services, as directed and approved by the Board.


Vice President of Professional Resources
The Vice President of Professional Resources shall be responsible for establishing and maintaining both internal and external relationships and the processes that provide job opportunities to the Officers and members of ISM-LA.


Secretary
The Secretary shall attend and record in suitable permanent form, the proceedings of all meetings of the Association and the Board of Directors, and shall perform other such duties as may be assigned to the Secretary by the President.


Past President
The Past President shall be appointed by the President, with approval of the Board of Directors, and shall serve as an advisor to the Board and shall perform such other duties as directed by the President.


Office Manager
The Board of Directors may contract with an Office Manager to handle all the clerical requirements of the Association. The Board of Directors will control the remuneration of this individual and will determine the necessary duties.


Financial Advisor
The Board of Directors may contract with a financial advisor/manager for financial services. The Board of Directors will control the remuneration of this individual and will determine the necessary duties.


*All Directors, where assigned and elected, will support the Vice President of each position.
