Thank you to everyone who joined us at the Hilton LAX last week. The January 6th Dinner Meeting, featuring the topic The Legal Ramifications of Purchasing by Donald Woods, J.D., C.P.M, was another huge success. Mr. Woods, as is evident by the impressive list of initials trailing his name, offered a special an important insight into our profession; one that marries the legal and purchasing worlds into a singular perspective. By sprinkling fascinating anecdotes throughout his presentation, he underlined his key argument; that our actions as purchasing professionals have ramifications far beyond that of basic cost savings. His examples showcased the responsibility we have as purchasing professionals to do the right thing…and stressed how much damage may be wrought from doing the wrong thing. As the Board presented its mid-year report card to the attendees, it was also please that the turnout was fantastic. Good things have been happening, and we love to spread the word.
