Message from the President
As professionals in supply management, we understand the importance of continued personal growth and development in our field. The sourcing organizations we represent continue to be asked to play vital roles in the management of suppliers and in delivering cost savings. It’s my firm belief that ISM Los Angeles continues to do its part in “leading supply management”, through the professional development of our members with informative seminars, educational opportunities, and professional networking.
It is my honor and pleasure to serve as President for this next term and I look forward to working with our new Board in creating excellence as an affiliate!
As we begin our 2010-2011 term, I would like to thank all of the board members and volunteers for your support during this past year. It is the members that make any organization successful. You have been the lifeblood of this affiliate and I want to say "Thank you" for your support. As a volunteer organization, we could not have done it without you! I would like to extend a special “Thanks” to our past President, Michelle Samuelson, for all of her efforts this past year. I am committed to seeing our affiliate do all it can during this next term to build upon the foundation that Michelle helped to establish. Our new board has a lot of energy and fresh ideas, and is excited to keep the momentum going!
One of the primary reasons our affiliate exists is to offer pertinent educational opportunities and professional development in the supply chain field. This year we plan to carry on this purpose by bringing great speakers and presenters to our monthly meetings, providing valuable seminars and training opportunities, as well as review courses for the coveted CPSM credential. In addition, we plan to have a fun time in the process with events like our annual Golf Tournament as well as our popular Casino Night!
As we move forward, I would like to ask each member to continue to help support the growth of ISM-LA by encouraging one new individual to join our organization. This helps to strengthen our profession and to ensure a bright future. Also, since ISM-LA depends on the volunteer support of its members, I would encourage you to consider joining one of the several committees we have available. This provides excellent professional career development experience and can be used towards achieving service points for A.P.P./C.P.M./CPSM designations.
One final note, we hope you’ll join us at our Professional Development Seminars (Dinner Meetings) at the Proud Restaurant near LAX. Until then, feel free to contact me with any questions, comments or suggestions.
